Description

UroTuning is pleased to present Clutch Master clutches for your Mk7 GTi 2.0T TSi. Clutch Master clutches are developed and tested across many different friction products, pressure plate loads and flywheel designs with one goal in mind, to create clutch systems not only with perfect balance and symmetry but also to perfectly complement engine modifications without compromise in reliability, drivability or enjoyment.

Each clutch system is specially matched to specific driving styles, uses and power levels to insure the needs of each client are accomplished. Often times, a compromise between drivability and pedal feel must be made to achieve power handling. If you are drag racing you will have different requirements for clutch operation than someone who wishes to participate in daily spirited driving or endurance racing. One clutch certainly does not fit all and we have done the homework for you to recommend a clutch system that meets your specific goals.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All Clutch Master Clutches REQUIRE their Single Mass Flywheel Option. The clutch kit will NOT work with the OEM Dual Mass Flywheel.


The Classes

Stage 1 - FX100 Dampened Steel Backed Organic Disc Kit - 17400-HD00-D
This configuration is focused around an OEM pedal feel and initial engagement characteristics. This is the clutch that won"t give you a significantly stronger left leg but will provide many thousands of miles of ease of use and operation with the ability to transfer different Stages of engine performance to the tires. The quick engagement of most aftermarket clutches or the "grab is greatly reduced and in most cases completely eliminated to allow for smooth clutch release and easy initial acceleration.

Stage 2 - FX250 Dampened Steel Backed Organic Disc Kit - 17400-HD0F-D
The FX250 clutch system has a higher holding capacity than a traditional full faced Kevlar without compromising the street friendly characteristics Clutch Masters is known for.

Stage 3 - FX300 Steel backed Segmented Carbon/Kevlar - 17400-HDTZ-D
The FX300 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a Steel Back Segmented Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the ultimate street enthusiast or weekend racer running a normally aspirated car equipped with cylinder head work and/or hotter cam(s), or with medium-boost turbo or super-charger, or up to 100hp NO2. The FX300 features only slightly increased pedal pressure, long-life disc and positive engagement. The FX300 is only recommended for the street and not for the track. Minimum 500 Required break-in miles.

The FX350 clutch system has a higher holding capacity than a segmented Kevlar lining without compromising the street friendly characteristic Clutch Masters is known for. This new formula will also be more durable than the Kevlar discs.

Stage 4 - FX400/HDCL Dampened Fiber Dual Friction Lined Disc Kit - 17400-HDCL-D
The FX400/HDCL ceramic full disc design creates a quick and rapid engagement while still creating minimal chatter due to the marcel cushion between the disc linings, this disc is designed for street driven vehicles.

Stage 4 - FX400/HDC6 Dampened 6 Puck Ceramic Disc Kit - 17400-HDC6-D
The FX400/HDC6 ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that may not be ideal for street driven vehicles. *

* Warning: Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400/HDC6 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, only premium ceramic friction material is used.

*Ceramic based clutch disc are not intended to increase the life expectancy of a clutch rather to increase the holding capacity and improve the durability of the clutch. Using a ceramic based material for easy street driving may reduce the life of the clutch kit due to harsh engagement and higher tendency to slip the clutch kit. Ceramic disc are never recommended for stock or near stock vehicle applications.

Stage 5 - FX500/HDB6 Rgid 6 Puck Ceramic Disc Kit - 17400-HDB6-R
The versatile FX500 System uses either the Power Plus I or Power Plus II Pressure Plate along with a solid center 6 or 8 Puck Ceramic Button disc.

The FX500 disc is designed for outstanding holding capacity and rapid heat dissipation. The FX500 ceramic paddle design creates a quick and rapid engagement as well as clutch chatter that is not recommended for the street.

* Warning: The FX500 is a Solid Hub (rigid) disc that engages and disengages instantly.

This is a Race Only clutch
. All stages come as a complete kit including disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing (when applicable), and alignment tool. (Individual components available upon request)

FLYWHEEL DETAILS


Flywheels manufactured by Clutch Master are made from low carbon, hot rolled steel that is highly resistant to warping and perfectly suited for the friction materials mated to them. Single mount CNC machining guarantees precise tolerances and perfect balance exceeding O.E. specifications. Extensive field-testing has been done to determine the proper weight for each specific vehicle and to ensure smooth operation, safety and durability under extreme operating conditions. The steel flywheel with this kit weights 18 lbs.
