The BMW N52, N54, N55, & S55 engines are notorious for random serpentine belt failures. Once this belt fails on your engine, there is a strong possibility for it to wrap around your crank shaft past your OEM crank seal, and into your engine internals. Once the belt is inside your engine, it is commonly shredded, causing bits and pieces to clog up the oil pickup and potentially lead to catastrophic engine failure.
The 034Motorsport Billet Crank Seal Guard is designed to be installed over the OEM BMW crank seal to prevent a failed serpentine belt from entering your engine. The 034Motorsport Crank Seal Guard is manufactured from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and anodized black to protect it from any corrosion.
